Cookie recipe --dark brown vs golden brown sugar?

Is there a difference (other than color) between dark brown sugar and golden brown sugar? If a recipe calls for golden brown sugar, can I use dark brown instead in the same proportion?Cookie recipe --dark brown vs golden brown sugar?
Dark brown sugar has more molasses in it. You can use it in the same proportion. I'm not sure if it will affect what you are baking or not. Baking, unlike cooking, is a artful science, where things have to react with one another to achieve the desired results.

Try it and see. You might like the results. I personally won't make my famous chocolate chip cookies with golden brown sugar. The dark brown sugar makes the cookies kind of crispy and chewy all at the same time.Cookie recipe --dark brown vs golden brown sugar?
I use whatever kind of brown sugar I have on hand and really haven't ever noticed that it makes any difference.
They both bake up similar the difference is taste. Golden or light brown sugars are not as strong flavored as dark brown sugar. You should be ok with your recipe. Be sure to pack it in the measuring cup to get an accurate measurement. don't just pour it in or spoon it in the measuring cup.
